B&S Challenger 2 Brochon Bb Cornet outfit with optional A valve BS31422-8

The B&S 3142 Challenger II “Brochon” Bb/A Cornet is a great choice for any player looking for an elegant sound. As with all B&S instruments, there is clear inspiration from Bach. However the Brochon has more warmth in the sound than a Strad cornet, making it equally useful in the orchestra and the brass band. 

This cornet features a .462″ bore and 1st and 3rd valve slide tuning triggers for quick intonation adjustments. The instrument comes with an additional A rotary valve that can be switched in, giving the player the opportunity to drop the pitch to A. Without this additional slide, the cornet is only in Bb. It really is a useful function, causing no impediment to the instruments use in Bb should it not be required.
