The new Berp bio oil is non-toxic and petroleum free. This is the medium viscosity version in a 1oz bottle. The medium viscosity makes this oil a great all round oil for the vast majority of requirements. Only brand new instruments (and perhaps newer Yamaha models) need a Light, and only older instruments need a Heavy viscosity. So, the Medium is commonly a safe choice if you have an instrument a few years old in good overall condition.
This new oil has been developed by the Berp team (who make a range of Brass accessories) and the scientist from Novvi (pioneers in bio lubricants). The oil is produced in the USA from sustainably grown sugarcane.
This oil has no adverse effect (no calcium build up) on your valves whether they are nickel-plated, monel-plated or raw brass.
