Easy Jazzy Saxophone - James Rae

Easy Jazzy Saxophone by James Rae is an enjoyable collection of five contrasting pieces designed to introduce saxophonists to the world of jazz at a beginner level. Published by Universal Edition, this accessible music book combines catchy melodies, lively rhythms and straightforward accompaniments to help players develop confidence and a feel for jazz.

The collection includes five original pieces: A Slice of the Action, Passin’ Through, Low Tide, Deal Me In! and Time Flies. Each piece offers a different musical character, encouraging students to explore jazz phrasing, rhythm and style while improving their playing technique.

The book includes parts for both E-flat and B-flat saxophones, making it suitable for alto and tenor saxophonists. The saxophone parts are printed at concert pitch above the piano accompaniment to make rehearsals easier.

Ideal for beginner saxophonists, this collection is a valuable resource for instrumental lessons, home practice and informal performances. It also provides an excellent stepping stone towards James Rae’s more advanced Jazzy Series collections.
