Pre Owned Prozone Custom “Miyashiro–Shew” Bb Trumpet,recently serviced ready to use. with a brand new BAM (Schilke) double case included.

A unique professional Bb trumpet combining the concepts of Yamaha’s Eric Miyashiro and Bobby Shew instruments.

This customised Bb trumpet was built in 2020 in the Prozone Music Workshop, with the aim of creating a commercially viable instrument that combines characteristics of two highly regarded Yamaha trumpet concepts: the Eric Miyashiro and Bobby Shew models.

The instrument is built around a B&S valve block,carefully combined with selected components chosen for their playing characteristics:

• B&S 3137/II valve block, in Silver plated
• Yamaha Bobby Shew leadpipe, in-row brass
• Yamaha Main tuning slide, in gold Lacquer
• Yamaha Tuning slide receiver, in-row brass
• Lightweight Carol Brass bell, in-row brass

The result is a genuinely individual instrument that brings together elements from different trumpet traditions rather than simply reproducing an existing production model.

The concept behind the instrument was to achieve a versatile commercial Bb trumpet, combining the focused, responsive qualities associated with the Miyashiro large valve block concept with the powerful, flexible commercial approach of the Bobby Shew design.

This is a particularly interesting instrument for a player looking for something outside the standard catalogue, with a specification that cannot simply be found by picking a conventional production trumpet from a showroom.
